Identity as an individual is what you label yourself as, in other words what you see yourself as being in terms of a person. It does not matter what you have as your label because in the end it will differ from person to person as what they think your identity is. The way someone else views you is usually based off of your actions rather than your intentions and this is where Identity can differ.
A great example of this is from earlier in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo where she attacks a bully with a baseball bat, the teachers and children of the school labeled her as crazy while we understand different aspects of her personality that tell us that she is not in fact mentally disabled.
With that in your mind I ask you, what is your identity? Do you think of yourself based off of your personal traits such as gender, race, ethnicity, sexuality; or do you define yourself by more by what you have done/do and your intentions behind it?
