On Impulse
Impulsive actions led to trouble, and trouble could have unpleasant consequences.
(p. 241).

An impulse is a wish, urge or sudden desire for something. On the psychological level it is considered something that is a primal human aspect or attributed to Freud's concept of the
'Id'. While it is a fundamental aspect of human thought, it can also be extremely problematic as seen in the condition known as OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder).
An impulse action can be stirred by anything as it is an subconscious response to outside stimulus. This means that if you see something you want the Id inside of you wants to have it and wants it now. However, this does not mean that it is always a reaction of wanting; impulse actions can occur from any stimulus; a good example of an impulse action is where someone jumps out to scare you and the second they jump out you just punch them with out a second thought. Immediately after the punch you recognize that it was the wrong reaction but you could not stop it because it was acting on impulse rather than thought.
Below is an example of the impulse action; you can immediately see afterwords that the man that threw the punch that he realized what happened but it was already too late.
