Lisbeth is very protective of her stuff and doesn't like it when others touch her stuff. She is hesitant at first when Mikeal is expressing so much interest in her bike because shes not sure if he truly means it. There interest in motorcycles allows Mikeal to become just a little bit close to Lisbeth and she seems to notice as well.
“The motorcycle was the thing I really didn’t want to do. You know, you’re going to be raped, be naked… But as soon as he was like, ‘You’re going to have to ride a motorcycle,’ I was like, ‘Oh, really?’” –Rooney Mara (Lisbeth)
“She was sent over to me to start teaching her to ride,” says Kell. “She had never been on a bike before, so we had to start easy. I’ve trained many actors to ride over the years, and I must say that Rooney was one of the best. She was fearless, but smart. In three days, we had her doing everything that she needed to do on camera at 35 mph.” – Justin Kell
