After enduring an adventure for the sake of his reputation and his financial stability, Blomkvist has formed distinct opinions regarding the way in which the Swedish economy is managed. As an investigative journalist, he is in a position uniquely capable of railing against systems like the stock exchange and calling for reform or dissolution of such systems.
